Forget 3-D, the Koreans are taking the Avatar viewing experience all the way to 4-D. Which means you’ll actually get to feel the spittle from a wild banshee hit your cheek, mid-scream.
According to the Post Chronicle Korea’s Seoul Theater has lined up 25 different special effects to give audiences the full 4-D experience
Avatar is coming in 4D at Korean theaters. Don’t know what 4D is? It’s one of the coolest ways to watch a movie and feel a part of the action. Korea will give a full 4-dimensional experience for its viewers and tickets will cost $15.80.
The 4D seats are movie activated. When theres a scene of sprinkling water, you’ll feel real sprinkling water hit you. When there are explosives, you will be able to smell them. you’ll feel the wind as the characters fly through the sky. Your seat will also move during tense movie scenes. There are over 25 different special effects added to Korea’s Seoul Theater.
Korea’s Wonderworld Studio partnered up with an U.S. animation picture company to present 4D movies and rides. It is unclear if America and other countries may start implementing these movie experiences to movie theaters here
This isn’t the first 4-D experience for Korea, the theater has been throwing water in the audience’s faces since Journey to the Center of the Earth and plans on doing the same thing for Percy Jackson and The Olympians: The Lightning Thief.
My only issue, wet popcorn!
