‘Magic’ Drama May Be Coming To NBC – Think Harry Potter Sitcom

One my new favorite people, and somebody that has moved up on the list of people I would consider donating a kidney if needed, seems to be working on a new magic based drama.

Anyway enough with the silliness, it looks like Ronald D. Moore of the Battlestar Galactica reboot, The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine and I’m sure some other important sci fi stuff I should have looked up before I started to write, may be lining up a new project with NBC Universal. Word is (pretty much all over the rumor pages) that it will be a fantasy drama and is described as an adult Harry Potter set in a world ruled not by science but by magic. Sort of the opposite of his Caprica show, oh yeah I should have added that to the list above.

My first thought was it would be like Dresden Files, but they already tried that and I think it washed out. Sort of a bummer cause the books are still very fun to read.

Anyway, there isn’t a time-line set for when we might see this new fantasy show from Moore, but best case scenario it’s likely still a year or two off.
