NSFW, but still pretty fully. Robot Chicken has a special episode coming up using just the characters of DC Comics (no release date yet), and to sort of get the word out they’ve put out a new clip for the show titled “Give It Up, Sinestro” in which Sinestro takes his rivalry with the Green Lantern a step too far. Ok fine you want more, Warner Bros. has released a new trailer that focuses on the history of the Corps and fills us on the background of Parallax. The trailer doesn’t spoil any more of the plot then the other 2 (or is it 3 at this point) other trailes they’ve released, but what it does do is give you some good quick background info.
Warner Home Video has just released the new trailer for their upcoming DC Universe original animated movie Green Lantern: Emerald Knights, and with Nathan Fillion as the voice of Hal Jordan you know it’s going to be good.
If you saw Batman: Gotham Knights then you’ll be familiar with how they are going to format this one. It’s going to have six interlocking stories and from what I can gather fromthe trailer will have allot of fighting, so that’s always good.
Green Lantern: Emerald Knights is an all-new DC Universe Animated Original Movie that weaves six interlocking stories of the Green Lantern Corps’ rich mythology around preparations for an attack by an ancient enemy. As the battle approaches, Hal Jordan (voiced by Nathan Fillion, Castle) mentors new recruit Arisia (Elisabeth Moss, Mad Men) in the history of the Green Lantern Corps, telling tales of Avra (the first Green Lantern) and several of Hal’s comrades – including Abin Sur, Kilowog, Laira and Mogo. In the end, Arisia must rise to the occasion to help Hal, Sinestro and the entire Green Lantern Corps save the universe from the destructive forces of Krona.
Green Lantern: Emerald Knights is written by Geoff Johns, Dave Gibbons, Peter J. Tomasi, Eddie Berganza, Alan Burnett, Todd Casey and Michael Green & Marc Guggenheim and will be released direct-to-DVD on June 7.
Grab your favorite Green Lantern shirt and sit back and enjoy, the Green Lantern Trailer Is finally out!
In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan.
Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax…he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.
People are either going to love it or hate it mostly because of the effects.
I know, what an odd title right.
According to Comic Book Movie, the character of Krona will make an appearance in Green Lantern starring Ryan Reynolds. My first thought hearing this news is either they are already hard at work planning the sequel (good news) or DC is working on the same idea as Marvel. Bring all the characters in for one block buster movie sometime in the future (even better news).
Another day, another Green Lantern filming report. The cast and crew of DC’s next superhero tentpole franchise, Green Lantern, will be filming in downtown New Orleans, Louisiana, tonight. Several streets will be completely closed off to allow room for an Earth-based scene involving the fear entity Parallax and Krona. Longtime readers of DC comics know who Krona is; but for those of you a bit unfamiliar, here is a brief description:
Born on Maltus, Krona is an Oan scientist who became obsessed with observing the origins of the universe itself, despite an ancient legend that said discovering that secret would cause a great calamity. Krona constructs a machine that pierces the temporal barrier and views the beginnings of time itself. Krona catches a glimpse of the hand of creation depositing the speck that would become the entire cosmos. His machine explodes at that instant, and the universe is shattered causing the creation of the Multiverse as the universe replicates into an infinite number of parallel universes. At this same moment, the Anti-Matter Universe is created, unleashing evil into the cosmos; thus, the Monitor and the Anti-Monitor are born. As punishment for this act, Krona is transformed into pure energy by his fellow Oans and is sent to forever wander the cosmos. Krona’s actions are what caused the Oans to become the Guardians of the Universe.
The exact role Krona will play in Green Lantern is still uncertain. Could this be another clue that DC is secretly planning to conjoin their superhero properties into one film universe? Or is this their way of explaining all the different incarnations of their film characters?
While to most of you this news is more along the lines of whats a Krona? To Green Lantern fans this is huge.
Now for some news that’s sort of a bummer…. not sure if you know this or not but Liam Neeson has been locked on to play President Abraham Lincoln for Steven Spielberg in his planned film, Lincoln. If you’ve seen Laim you know this is a near prefect fit.
Sadly word on the webs is that Neeson, while speaking to GMTV, said he won’t be playing the legendary president anymore stating “I’m not actually playing Lincoln now. I was attached to it for a while, but it’s now…I’m past my sell-by date”
First I thought he was saying he’s too old, now I think it’s more “Hey you guys waited to long for me to make this flick”
On stands Friday, it’s the Entertainment Weekly Comic-Con Special. Not only does it have some great Green Lantern info and images but will also have a sneak peek at Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Thor, Tron: Legacy and they mention zombies so I’m guessing The Walking Dead.
As for our new Hal Jordan, it’s ok but I can’t wait to see it on screen.
WOW was Fan Expo busy. How busy you ask? Well, the first hour of the show saw three AWESOME fans walk away with TEN t-shirts EACH. Yeah, THAT busy!
It was packed wall to wall with fans & stars alike and it sure felt like just about EVERYONE stopped buy the StylinOnline booth to check us out. The show’s attendance was up 28%, 37% & 55% on Friday, Saturday & Sunday respectively which is just staggering.
One of the highlights of the show for us was having HEROES star James Kyson Lee (Ando) stop by to check out the goods. We snapped a quick pick of James & StylinOnline President James Stylin with our HEROES t-shirts. Does it really get any cooler than that? Oh wait it DOES! Later that day James joined us for a meal and conversation at the Diamond Comics Distributors dinner.
We made a ton of our gracious hosts happy as they picked our racks bare. Of course, the Green Lantern: Blackest Night t-shirts were very popular but we saw the horror and sci-fi t-shirts fly off the racks, too.
Our trip to Fan Expo brought us some of the nicest and most gracious fans, customers and friends we have ever met. We can’t thank each and everyone enough. We’d also like to thank the Fan Expo staff, headed up by Aman Gupta for putting on another great show. James and the StylinOnline Crew are already counting the days until we head back up to one of the best shows on the convention circuit.
Up next… Dragon*Con!

GamesBeat has all the details:
Warner Bros. and game developer Double Helix have partnered to create an action-based video game slated around the comic book hero Green Lantern, VentureBeat has learned.
The video game is believed to be linked to the official Green Lantern movie scheduled for a June 17, 2011 release. The movie is to be directed by Martin Campbell (director of the Casino Royale and GoldenEye films) with a screenplay penned by screenwriters Greg Berlanti and Michael Green.
Both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game are in the works. As far as we know, there has never been a video game that focuses solely on Green Lantern, which is one of DC Comics’ oldest superheroes.
Double Helix, a twin studio comprised of two studios dubbed Shiny and The Collective, is currently finishing work on G.I. Joe (due August 4) for Electronic Arts, and has started work on Green Lantern for WB. Double Helix itself is a division of Foundation 9 Entertainment.
Superhero games are perennial bestsellers in the video game industry, so it’s only fair that Green Lantern character should get his shot. With the 50th anniversary of the original Green lantern (a.k.a Hal Jordan) being celebrated at this year’s Comic-Con conference and the straight-to-DVD movie Green Lantern: First Flight arriving shortly to retail stores, Green Lantern seems to be having a revival. Comic artist Geoff Johns is leading the comic book revival with a series dubbed Blackest Night. Buzz about this subplot in the Green Lantern storyline has been building for some time.
“The current Green Lantern comic story arc has been getting a lot of attention,” a representative at DC Comics told VentureBeat. “Geoff Johns has done an amazing job with the Blackest Night.”
A Warner Bros representative declined to comment on this story, citing it as “rumor and speculation.” But multiple sources close to the project who asked not to be mentioned by name, said a Green Lantern game concept has been bandied about for more than a year, but hadn’t seen much development progress until recently.
Working with comics I see a ton of fan made movies… some bad and some well, really bad. Actually I shouldn’t be so harsh, I’m a bit sick today so I think I’m going a bit over with the dramatic stuff.
Anyway, this Green Lantern trailer is filled with awesome (It even has a little bit of Sinestro in it) and you should watch and enjoy it. When I have time I ran across some other fun stuff to check out, I’ll see if I can post it.
