Walking Dead Writing Staff Fired!
Posted by keithpatrick on Dec 1, 2010 in Movies, News
In what can only be called odd, Frank Darabont, director, producer and writer for the freshman AMC series The Walking Dead, has let go of the all his writers and for second season 2 will either be doing it alone or hiring freelancers.
Now we always hear stories about people getting shuffled around between seasons as they fine tune stuff, but cutting everybody (and I think including the creator Robert Kirkman) is plain off. No word on exactly why the writing staff was fired, but it’s assumed that they just weren’t getting the job done or didn’t play nice with Frank Darabont vision of season 2.
Currently the next season is way way off, we hear next October so they have time to fix everything and get it right.

Seems like everybody has to follow rules, even Zombies!
On the official Twitter page for The Walking Dead television show is the official zombie rules that will govern the behavior of the undead.
They only have seven rules right now, either Zombies can’t really follow alot of rules or more will be added soon. Anyway here we go
#1 Ability to run is based on the amount of time a zombie has been undead, and how much decay has set in.
#2 Zombies decay but at a much slower rate than humans, and it’s still possible to differentiate between young and old zombies.
#3 Zombies are like lions: if they’ve eaten, you can walk by them without fear, but a pack of hungry zombies will attack you.
#4 The quickest speed of any zombie is a shambling run. see Night of the Living Dead. NO sprinters exist.
#5 Zombies are not dexterous. They cannot pick up or use any items more complex than a rock or a stick.
#6 Zombies have poor eyesight but they do have a strong sense of smell.
#7 Zombies cannot speak but can communicate by pack mentality. The herd tends to move together if they sight food.
The Walking Dead will be on AMC for it’s 90-minute premiere Sunday, October 31 at 10pm EST.

AMC is signed a development deal to produce a series based off Robert Kirkman’s comic book series, The Walking Dead.
“This is not about zombies popping out of closets, This is a story about survival, and the dynamics of what happens when a group is forced to survive under these circumstances. The world (in ‘Walking Dead’) is portrayed in a smart, sophisticated way.” said AMC SVP of programming, Joel Stillerman to Variety.
“We’ve got an audience that loves this kind of material,” he said.
Darabont and Hurd pitched the project to AMC and several other outlets. There is no studio attached yet. The duo’s involvement made the project a must-have for the cabler, Stillerman said.
“These are two world-class filmmakers who are also brilliant storytellers with experience in the fantasy genre,” he said.
