Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland Secret Formula

The Mouse House and Tim Burton are set for a ‘very important date’ this weekend with the very anticipated 3D film “Alice in Wonderland” launching at 3,728 locations. Disney has said tracking for “Alice,” starring Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, is strong across all quadrants and should pique the curiosity of both families and young adults given the film’s 3D component. Studio reps have said the 3D aspect is an integral part of the film and expects 3D revenue to boost “Alice’s” overall B.O. performance and at the same time give people with glasses a mild headache… ok they didn’t say that last part but it’s true!

All this must weight heavy on Tim Burton’s head. Now in an exclusive behind the scenes look at a Tim Burton brainstorming session, we can see how the creative dark genius comes up with his ideas. Stripes, white make-up, Danny Elfman’s music, Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter on speed dial — these are a few of his, favorite things.

Pic’s total domestic 3D count stands at 2,063 locations plus 180 Imax 3D engagements, making it the largest 3D bow ever. With my wife being a huge Alice in Wonderland fan I think we may be jumping in with the crowds to see it opening night with my niece. Like all true fans they will both be wearing some slick new Alice in Wonderland T-shirts we got at stylinonline. My niece picked them both out so if you see somebody wearing the “Alice in Wonderland Queen Baby Tee” (I personally like the Alice in Wonderland Cat Baby Tee but I’m a guy not a 11 year old girl) with a young girl wearing the “Alice in Wonderland Girls T-Shirt“. They got me the “Alice in Wonderland Mad Hatter T-Shirt Sheer” but I left it at home mistakenly.
