Tron and the Mighty Avengers coming to Disney

Two new cartoon confirmations from Disney today: there will be a Tron animated series debuting in 2011, and a new Avengers series will air on Disney XD this fall.

Tron will be a 10-part Tron series in the Fall of 2011 on the Disney Channel. This series will be a precursor to full Tron animated series for the 6-14 year old set.

Disney also confirmed that they would be picking up The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes for Disney XD’s Fall 2010 line-up. Although news of this series debuted in 2008, its move to Disney XD is evidence that the House of the Mouse is integrating the House of Ideas into their programming. Here’s a preview:

For the first Marvel cartoon to be produced by Disney, I think it looks pretty good.
